Yoga with Weights & Resistance Training
Join these FREE online classes each Wednesday in June (17:30 UTC+2) to combine yoga with weights to build strength, improve mobility, and support deeper stretching.
You will need 2x dumbbells (2kgs each or more if you are up for the challenge), ankle weights (but these are optional), and your usual yoga gear.
These 1 hour classes will include some pranayama (breathing techniques) and yoga asanas with added weights to increase resistance as well as assist in deeper stretching.

Hi, I'm Lara-Lyn...

... a lover of sunlight, wild places, movement and the sacred ordinary.

As the founder of Samudra Yoga School, The Yoga Shala Windhoek and Holy Wild Yoga, I’ve spent over a decade guiding teachers and students in Yoga, Thai Massage, Partner Acrobatics, and creating retreats that reconnect us with our wild, sacred selves.

For me, movement has always been more than exercise. It is a language, a prayer, a way of remembering that strength and softness were never meant to live separately.

Over the years, through teaching yoga, exploring acrobatics, and developing a love for resistance training, I became curious about what happens when mindful movement meets a little more load, challenge, and fire. Yoga Lift was born from that curiosity. Not to replace traditional yoga, and not to turn yoga into sport, but to gently bridge worlds. To offer a playful, grounded way of building strength, resilience, mobility, and confidence while still honouring breath, awareness, and presence. Think of it as yoga with a pulse of wild strength woven through it, where dumbbells and ankle weights become tools not just for muscle, but for embodiment too.

What to expect

In these Yoga Lift classes, you'll experience:

60-minute yoga practice blending flow, resistance training and stretching.
Expect mindful movement, pranayama, and moments of stillness woven throughout the practice to keep you connect to breath and body.
Using dumbbells, ankle weights and bodyweight resistance, we'll explore strength-building in a way that supports stability, posture and mobility.
Live attendees will enjoy an interactive environment. Sessions will be recorded and available for free for one week.
